Kind've Inactive Right now...

I'm pretty much completely inactive right now on DA. Haven't posted in months, and visit the website only once every few weeks. I might post some of my art class sketches from first semester sometime though (I'm waiting to get some of them back at the moment, the teacher keeps them).

Ants! Spring!

Well, as I have finally gotten into the 2nd semester of my sophomore year, I get to do a research project for concurrent credit College Biology. Yay.
I've decided to do an experiement with ants (my mom loved this idea so much that she told me to do it outside :)). I've been taking some pictures of the ones I found in my backyard (prospective test subjects) in a petri dish I just recently purchased. My latest submission is of one that's crawling along the lid upside down.
My best guess of the species is leptothorax, of the subfamily myrmicinae - judging from the description at one of the species picture catalogs I looked at online (http://ww
